I often feel that most of my labour is invisible

If local people are involved as partners and collaborators, it is important to work in an open ended way. These collaborators are not solutions to a specific problem. It is essential to accommodate their transformative agency and needs, perspectives, and

expectations that emerge in a collaborative process.

Often it is not a question of Budget to care for the aftermath of cultural events. Some of my interviewees calculated that if there would be only one less of the big artistic attractions, this would already be sufficient to do those projects that deeply engage with local communities more sustainably.

I learned through my research that it often needs people from the local context who are not part of the event organization to create more lasting and sustainable outcomes.
